Underwater Temperature Sensors

Fibre-Optic Temperature Sensors
The fibre-optic temperature sensors rely on thermal quenching of photoluminescence and are optimized for the innovative REDFLASH technology from PyroScience. The optical temperature sensors are characterized by extreme photo-stability, small size of the sensor tip (minisensors), ultra-fast response times (<0.1 s in water), and do not show interferences with gases (such as oxygen) and ionic species.
These fibre-optic minisensors consist of an optical fibre with a sensor tip diameter of 430 µm. Compared to a microsensor they are suited for slightly larger samples, long-term measurements and profiling applications with less spatial resolution requirements.
