The New LactoScope 500 – Next Generation Dairy Liquids Analyser
The Ultimate Analyser for Dairy Processors
The new LactoScope 500 measures dairy liquids accurately and consistently, even high viscocity samples. Every aspect of its exceptional forerunner, the LactoScope FTA, has been refined to produce a new standard in dairy analysis.
So, why is it better?
Homogenization is Key
Without an effective homogeniser, fat globules will cluster unevenly, resulting in inaccurate measurement of fat and protein levels. To achieve representative and consistent samples the LactoScope 500 is equipped with a dual stage homogeniser which reduces fat globules to less than one micron, distributing them evenly throughout the sample. Spectral distortion and light scattering are therefore minimised. The result is the absorption bands for protein and fat can be read more accurately, producing greater accuracy and repeatability on all liquid dairy products.
Proven Technology
The LactoScope 500 retains the Fourier Transform Infrared interferometer with the fixed mirror design that reduces maintenance and eliminates the need for frequent realignments. It delivers superior sensitivity, specificity and accuracy compared to Mid Infrared instruments.
Easy To Use
When re-designing the LactoScope one of the aims was to make it more efficient and easier to use. This included:
- Automating the de-airing process: De-airing is now handled by the software, unscewing valves and manually de-airing the system is a thing of the past
- Reducing consumable refills: The consumable tanks are now twice the size of leading brands and feature extra-wide openings for quick and easy refilling and cleaning. It uses generic cleaning fluid rather than costly bespoke solutions and consumes 20% less liquid consumables than leading competitors
- Improving performance: Other critical elements like the pipette and the flow system have also been re-designed
- Reducing service costs: More components are now user replaceable and spectrometer cell wear has been reduced with the improved homogenisation
