The BacTrac 4300 Rapid Microbiology System automatically detects or enumerates a wide range of micro-organisms. In recent years the impedance measurement method on which the system is based has proven to be so versatile and robust that it has become the undisputed market leader. BacTrac has applications in the food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. It is also used by control and research laboratories, in biotechnology and environmental testing.
Its innovative measurement method gives the BacTrac the versatility to address a broad range of applications. Two impedance measurements per sample, the M-value (media) and E-value (electrode) can be used individually or in combination to provide the growth profile of samples. The BacTrac 4300's measurement technique can provide superior sensitivity to microbial metabolites and allow measurements in highly selective media. BacTrac is also expandable and can simultaneously test up to 768 samples in up to 24 different temperature zones.
Simple sample preparation with no manual plate handling can significantly improve laboratory sample throughput providing a rapid return on investment. In addition, a significant decrease in the exposure of personnel to potentially hazardous organisms can contribute to laboratory safety. The BacTrac 4300's integrated GLP-compliant test result documentation and reporting system facilitates trend analysis, reduces user review time and can enhance process control.

Easy System Expansion
The BacTrac 4300 system is designed to expand along with your needs. Since differing bacterial groups require different incubation temperatures, BacTrac provides the versatility of two independently controllable incubator zones.
Each zone has 32 sample wells allowing the user to test up to 64 samples simultaneously with no need to batch samples. If your testing volume requires even greater capacity, simply connect additional 64 well BacTrac 4300 units as you need them. A maximum of 768 samples can be tested simultaneously in 24 independently controlled incubator zones by linking up to 12 BacTrac 4300 units together to a single control PC.
Flexible Measurement Methods
The ability of the BacTrac 4300 to measure electrode (E-value) or media (M-value) impedance either separately or in combination allows a user to implement a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods and calibrations. Direct impedance measurements on a wide range of bacteria / media combinations can be made without interference from the high salt content of some selective media. Indirect measurement techniques using nested cells permit the rapid detection of yeasts and moulds and other CO2 producing organisms.
Disposable or Reusable Measurement Cells
The BacTrac 4300 allows you to choose from a range of pre-filled, disposable measurement cells that are ready to use to durable, multi-use glass cells that can be autoclaved.
