The Autoplate Spiral Plating System is a microprocessor-controlled Spiral Plater used for bacterial enumeration, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, and mutagenicity assays. The unique Autoplate technology eliminates most serial dilutions by continuously reducing the number of microbes on the spiral track. This leads to a 3/4 reduction of disposable materials and significant savings in time and labour. The Autoplate provides greater detection sensitivity and sample repeatability than conventional plating techniques.
The Autoplate is optimised to use a 500 μl syringe rather than a vacuum pump used on similar systems. This allows for greater pipetting accuracy and reduced sample volumes. The risk of clogging is also reduced as all the sample which is drawn into the stylus is then expelled, rather than being drawn through the entire system.
- Reduced footprint - no stand alone vacuum pump
- Greater efficiency - reduced spiral time and wash cycles
- 20 μl deposition - greatly extend the upper detection limits
- 30-second cycle time - increase the productivity in the lab
- 500 μl syringe - significantly extend lower detection limits and plate multiple replicates
- One-step cleaning - pump-driven cleaning system completely disinfects stylus without the use of an external vacuum
- Stainless steel work surface - easily disinfect the work surface
- Plate Centering Adapter - utilize both 10 cm and 15 cm plates and accommodate plate size variations between manufacturers
- Expel cleaning - remove the threat of clogged styli by expelling the sample from the tip on each cleaning
- USB interface - for future updates and technical support
- One-button operation - maximize productivity by running “Fill, Plate, Clean” with one touch
- AOAC (977.27), IMS, APHA, CE, IUL, ISO certifications
Ten deposition modes make the Autoplate the most flexible Spiral Plater on the market. Spiral plating is ideal for any application where total microbial count is required. A dispensing stylus deposits a syringe-drawn sample onto a rotating agar plate. The stylus moves from the near-center of the plate outward while the plate rotates, and the syringe plunger drives downward, depositing less sample as the stylus moves outward. The stylus features one-step disinfection and can accommodate samples from cups, test tubes, and microcentrifuge tubes without costly disposables. The precision backlit syringe ensures accurate deposition.
