  • Excellent sampling solutions
  • One system can analyze multiple sample types
  • Unrivalled spectroscopic specifications

Configurations and Applications
Quant is provided with a range of rapidly interchangeable modular accessories allowing seamless transfer between sample types and ensuring excellent spectroscopic quality. Samples are protected from point of sampling through NIR analysis to storage or reference analysis.

Temperature stabilisation is crucial for accurate analysis. Liquids, oils and fats are measured in vials in a temperature stabilised holder that retains and seals the sample, eliminating cross contamination and removing the need for sample clean-up.

Coarse solids, grains and forage are measured in a generic glass bottle. The bottle is rotated at an angle so that the sample is mixed during operation, improving the analysis. Samples are individually sealed preventing cross contamination or air interaction.

Pastes, dairy products and meats are measured in rotating dishes. These are generic glass, plastic or reusable Teflon, simple and cheap to replace.

Sample Accessories

  • Any sample type possible with focus on good sampling for representative bulk analysis
  • Heterogeneous samples analysed in generic bottles that are spinning and mixing during analysis
  • Liquids and oils analysed in temperature stabilised (up to 100oC) vials for ultimate performance
  • Generic and low cost samples holders used

All accessories are rapidly interchangeable making one Quant system capable of analysing multiple sample types while maintaining ultimate spectroscopic performance.

Technology

  • Cutting edge interferometer technology - Based on ABB Bomem platform
  • Solid state laser - Maintenance free
  • Quartz Halogen electronically stabilised source - Average lifetime of 10 years
  • ZnSe beamsplitter - Lifetime optics warranty against degradation due to moisture
  • Rugged and robust design

The Quant Analyser is powered by the latest ABB Bomem FT-NIR technology. FT-NIR (Fourier Transform Near Infrared) measures the entire spectrum of the sample instantly. This technique generates a large amount of high-quality spectral data, which makes it possible to accurately determine various components such as fat, moisture, protein, lactose, pH, etc. Permanently aligned optics with a Jacquinot stop in the interferometer output beam ensures an accurate and stable line shape as well as wavelength and resolution stability.

The Quant features the greatest spectral range on the market, 3,700 to 14,885 cm-1 (2702 to 672 nm). More spectral details result in more information and facilitates better calibration models. The Quant also has the highest available signal to noise ratio, providing improved stability and repeatability. Its ability to detect very small signals can be applied to novel applications.

Spectroscopic Performance (typical, at 25 °C with InAs detector)

  • Spectral Range 3,700 to 14,885 cm-1
  • Signal to Noise (60 s, 16 cm-1, at peak response) > 900 000: 1
  • Frequency Repeatability (@ 7300 cm-1) < 0.006 cm-1
  • Frequency Accuracy (@ 7300 cm-1) < 0.01 cm-1
  • Absorbance Reproducibility (toluene) < 0.002 AU
