Zeroing
 
Zero and Clean Solutions

 

Zero/Rinse Solution - 0.1% Triton X-100
1/ Heat 200-500ml distilled/deionised water to at least 50°C in a glass beaker.

2/ Add 5.0ml of Triton X-100.

3/ Stir until all of the Triton X-100 is dissolved.

4/ Measure approx. 4ltr of distilled/deionised water into a 5ltr container and add the dissolved Triton X-100.

5/ Make up to 5ltr with distilled/deionised water.

6/ Fill up the LactoScope reservoir container marked Zero.

Clean Solution - 4% Decon 90
1/ Add approx. 4ltr of distilled/deionised water to an empty 5ltr container.

2/ Add 200ml of Decon 90.

3/ Fill with distilled/deionised water up to 5ltr.

4/ Fill the LactoScope reservoir container marked Clean.

 

Zero Measurement
1/
The LactoScope analyses the Zero solution (essentially water) and sets parameters to 0.00.

2/ Zero measurements are repeated every 60 minutes.

3/ The LactoScope checks the new Zero readings against the last set, if within tolerances are accepted.

4/ If the new zero is outside tolerances the Zero is rejected and a warning displayed. The new zero can be accepted manually if desired after investigation by LabManager profile.
