The Soxtherm automates and speeds the extraction process and can evaporate and recover the solvent. By immersing the sample in hot solvent the extractable material is removed more quickly than the traditional method. The solvent is re-circulated to rinse the extractable material into the bottom of the beaker. Finally the solvent is removed by evaporation automatically and recovered for safe disposal or reuse.
The Soxtherm has proved to be a fast, efficient and safe method of Soxhlet extraction for many hundreds of laboratories all over the World. Available as a two, four or six placed system, up to four units can be operated independently with software or a single programmable controller.
Cooling water is only used when the system is in operation. Safety systems include beakers and hotplate behind glass door, cut outs for over-temperature hotplate, low water pressure and compressed air failure. The Soxtherm extraction system is spark proofed. The Multistat controller or Soxtherm Manager software, for which a PC is required, must be ordered separately. Compressed air is required at 4.5 bar pressure.
All Soxtherm systems are supplied complete and ready to use including; Extraction unit, Extraction beaker rack, viton seals, extraction beakers, thimble holders, tongs, box of 25 thimbles, box of boiling stones, data cable, tubing for water and air. Control system (either Multistat or Soxtherm Manager) and compressor must be ordered separately. In house compressed air may be used if available.
